That's not a surprise, given that much of what you are paying for is corporate profit\/overhead, marketing and distribution\/shipping: little is left over for actual materials and production. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor not much more than the mass-produced furniture, you can get a much more comfortable rocker\/chair made of 1.5-inch-high quality wood (Redwood, Alaska Yellow or Western Red Cedar, Eastern Red Cedar, White Oak, or Walnut), galvanized\/ceramic coated hardware lasts forever, sealed screw holes to prevent water intrusion, well routed and sanded, and finished with a high-quality semi-transparent penetrating UV-protecting oil finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCurved back slats provide wonderful lumbar support.
